Easy Salmon Mousse Recipe

This salmon mousse features a smooth blend of cooked salmon, cream cheese, and lemon juice, creating a rich and flavorful spread. The recipe takes about 20 minutes to prepare and serves 6 people.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces smoked salmon, flaked (or plain cooked salmon if you don’t like the smoked flavor)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream (optional for consistency)
  • Crackers or toast for serving

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the salmon, cream cheese, lemon juice, dill, and capers (if using). Blend until smooth.
  2. Adjust Consistency: If the mousse is too thick, add milk or cream a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. Season: Taste the mousse and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  4. Chill: Transfer the mousse to a serving dish, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve: Serve the chilled salmon mousse with crackers or toast, garnished with additional salmon chunks, dill or capers if desired.
