Quick Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry
This stir-fry features crispy tofu and tender broccoli cooked in a savory sauce. The dish takes about 30 minutes to prepare and serves 4 people.
Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into cubes. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the broccoli and bell pepper, stir-frying for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Combine and Season: Return the tofu to the skillet. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil, tossing everything together to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
