Easy Balsamic Grilled Flank Steak Recipe

This flank steak is marinated in a mixture of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, and herbs, then grilled to perfection. The cooking time is quick, making it a great option for weeknight dinners or weekend barbecues, serving approximately 4 people.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the Steak: Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the flank steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  5. Rest and Slice: Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Slice against the grain into thin strips.
  6. Serve: Serve the sliced steak with your choice of sides, such as grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
