Description

These steak fajitas are made with marinated steak strips cooked to perfection and served alongside colorful bell peppers and onions. The vibrant ingredients and flavorful seasoning make this dish a delightful experience. This recipe takes approximately 30 minutes to prepare and serves 4 people.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon tequila (optional)
  • 4-6 flour tortillas
  • Sour cream, guacamole, and salsa for serving
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, ground cumin, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and kosher salt. Add the sliced steak and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Vegetables: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly charred. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Steak: In the same skillet, add the marinated steak strips and cook over medium-high heat for about 3-5 minutes or until the steak is just cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan to get a nice sear.
  4. Combine and Serve: Add the cooked vegetables back to the skillet with the steak, mix well, and cook for an additional minute. Warm the flour tortillas on a skillet or in the microwave.
  5. Plate and Garnish: Serve the steak and vegetable mixture on a serving plate with warm tortillas. Add sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and chopped green onions as desired.
