Description

This Tomato Burrata Caprese salad features luscious burrata cheese accompanied by a mix of heirloom and cherry tomatoes, accented with basil leaves and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Perfect for summer, it serves as a vibrant side dish or appetizer and takes just 15 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mixed heirloom and cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 ball fresh burrata cheese
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)
  • Crusty bread or croutons for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tomatoes: In a large bowl, combine the halved heirloom and cherry tomatoes.
  2. Add the Burrata: Tear the burrata cheese into large pieces and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes.
  3. Season: Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with flaky salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste. Gently toss to combine.
  4. Add Basil: Fold in the torn basil leaves, mixing carefully to keep the burrata intact.
  5. Serve: Transfer the salad to a serving platter, drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired, and serve immediately with crusty bread or croutons on the side.
